PS2 EMULATOR RETROPIE SOFTWARE
Software is not (well, it is, but orders of magnitude slower than physical circuits).ĭoing operations in hardware consists of sending electrical charges down physical circuit boards. That 1 person needs to be much faster (more skilled) than the originals otherwise they would get bogged down and fail to replicate the tasks in a reasonable amount of time.Įlectricity is fast.

doing all of the same tasks), it would be like asking 1 person to do all 4 jobs. By breaking the task up between multiple specialized people they are able to get the task done fairly quickly and with relatively few errors.īecause emulation doesn't use the original hardware but acts just like it via software (i.e. You have 1 person taking orders, 1 person cooking burgers patties, 1 assembling and wrapping the burgers, and 1 person putting the burger, fries, and napkins in a bag.

You should have gone with something like fast food: The raspberry pi isn't smart enough to explain the bouncing ball to anyone. This takes much more work, even though the process you're trying to convey is, itself, very simple. Emulation is all the work it takes to explain to someone what happens when you drop a ball.

Running ps2 software on a PS2 is like showing someone a bouncing rubber ball. Since we don't have a rubber ball, if we want to convey the experience of a bouncing ball, we have to use a bunch of extra words and maybe drawings or mathematical formulas to get the same idea into someone's head. Anyone with a rubber ball can see that happen. You can drop it and it will bounce a few times. Look at it like this: The PS2 is a rubber ball.

The Pi doesn't have the same processor and GPU architecture as the PS2, so everything the PS2's hardware does has to be simulated by software code, and then recompiled for the Pi's Arm processor (not to mention synched back up, as the PS2's GPU requires cycle accurate CPU emulation because their code is written in sync with each other originally, almost like multithreads.

I hope that takes note and can fix this inconvenience in next revisions, it would be very helpful.Because in the PS2, hardware is handling everything inside: from controller inputs, to memory busses, everything has a specific controller handling these functions, up to and including the processor and GPU. I guess it is due to some bug in the programming. Well if you configure the command and when you need to configure the LT and RT button, you do not do it and you pass those two fields with the keyboard down and you continue configuring all the other options, when you finish you can verify that if you use it in games, it goes perfectly even in the retroarch interface, the problem is that you can not use those buttons in emulators when you can not assign them.
PS2 EMULATOR RETROPIE BLUETOOTH
I have already achieved that the command of xbox one with bluetooth and the keyboard work perfectly simultaneously with a "but", the problem lies in configuring the command that if you realize when you assign the buttons and use the LT buttons and RT the interface gives error in the configuration skipping some buttons and or having to go up to the right button with the keyboard to reconfigure it or even not assigning any action. Does the same thing happen to you?Ĭontroller works for games, doesn't seem to work in the Retroarch interface for me. Have you changed any option of the bluetooth options? just in case there is the problem? And the funny thing that I do not work both peripherals in retroarch, if I start it from retropie does not respond to controls.
